This song is about Gloria Scott who was the drug councilor of Anthony Kiedis who saw him through rehab and helped him quit drugs. Like Kiedis, Scott was a recovering heroin addict who became a nurse, she had 22 years of recovery from addiction. She worked as a drug counselor at Cri-Help in North Hollywood, California. She helped thousands recover from addiction including Kiedis and they became friends. To thank her he bought a beach house on Venice beach, but she died of terminal cancer.
